I recently had the pleasure to chat with Caitlin Montalvo. I enjoyed learning more about her, and I am sure you will too!
What item that you don’t have already, would you most like to own?
A small home or condo in Killington, VT. I grew up skiing (my dad taught me as soon as I could walk) and my husband learned a couple of years ago. He is doing so well with it. I’m so proud! It would be great to have a place to stay and be able to bring our dog with us and we could rent it out on AirBNB when we aren’t using it to help offset the cost. It would be fun to spend time on the mountain during the summer and to go leaf peeping in the fall, too!
If you could choose one hobby that now seems out of your reach either financially or time-wise, what hobby would you take up and why?
I’d really like to get more into golf. I own a set of clubs and played a little as a kid and young adult but I definitely need lessons! I think it’s a great sport that you can play at any age. My husband has started to play a little more, too, so it would be awesome to have an activity that we can enjoy together in the warmer months of the year, like we enjoy skiing in the winter.
Thinking about the architecture of houses, what type of architecture is the best fit for you?

A sense of Caitlin’s style – Even her mudroom is beautiful!
I adore our Cape Cod style home! It has the perfect balance of classic charm and modern amenities, such as a large master suite and central air. I’m lucky to have a very handy husband who is able to put to life some of my design ideas (I’m a wanna-be interior designer). He created a built-in area for coat hooks in our mud room and a fantastically organized walk-in master closet! I have also found a love for gardening and my favorite combination is Hydrangeas with Boxwoods, which I think looks fantastic with a Cape house.
If you were to change your name, what name would you adopt going forward? Why?
I really don’t think I’d change my name! Well, maybe I’d go by my middle name, Elizabeth, since it’s timeless and Caitlin is a little trendy. Isn’t your “movie star name” your middle name and the street you grew up on? In that case I’d be Elizabeth Grissom, which has a nice ring to it!
Where is your favorite place you have ever traveled?
We recently traveled to Key Largo and Key West with two other couples that we’re good friends with and it was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on! It was incredibly beautiful and the weather was absolutely perfect. My husband is Puerto Rican and has family there so we are fortunate to be able to travel their often, too. The Keys reminded me so much of Puerto Rico, so maybe that’s why I liked it so much!
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate! I cannot get enough! My favorite is Dove Dark Chocolate Promises. I also love a Peppermint Pattie once in a while.
What’s your favorite time of the day and why?

Caitlin’s dog – Rylee.
10am because that’s when I feel most productive. I’ve had my coffee and am usually settled in by then and ready to work. I’m not a natural early bird, but I’m not a night owl, either!
