Snapshot on Karen Totino

Karen Totino is a Licensed Real Estate Person with Monticello Real Estate and she has been helping clients buy and sell houses for the past two years.

Team Monticello has been working hard behind the scenes to profile each of our agents. The result is this short video that profiles Karen. You can watch it below.

For the past decade, Karen has owned and operated a design showroom called Green Conscience in Saratoga Springs.  It features non-toxic and sustainable interior finishes, organic mattresses, and all natural bedding accessories.  It evolved from the continuation of an organic lawn care business that started in 2005 when Karen was prompted into action while walking her children around the block.  She noticed that painted above each storm drain was “Discharges to Stream”, which is the Kayderosseras Creek, and right next to the drains were the little yellow signs put by chemical lawn care companies.  It was a light bulb moment for her. The following spring she launched Green Conscience Organic Lawn Care.

Karen expanded to Green Conscience because she saw a greater need for products that would create not only a non-toxic landscape, but also a non-toxic interior.  She also find the store offers a platform for education that helps empower homeowners to make healthier choices for their families.

Karen loves to serve and help others. She says, “A core value of mine is being of service to people. It’s a really rewarding feeling when you see your clients achieve their  goals and have success.”

Karen grew up in Malta, and currently resides in Ballston Spa with her husband and two daughters. She has a lot of contacts with builders, remodelers, and contractors and is very involved with the community. She is a member of Saratoga PLAN which is dedicated to preserving the rural character, natural habitats and scenic beauty of Saratoga County so that these irreplaceable assets are accessible to all and survive for future generations. She is also a member of the Soroptimist International of Saratoga County which is a global volunteer organization that improves the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
