It’s Halloween this week and the team at Monticello loves to be scared! There are many exciting events around the Capital Regional to get you in the spooky mood!

Ghosts of Albany Walking Tour

This tour will take you around Albany, and you will hear stories about ghosts, scandalous tales, mysterious sightings of apparitions, strange and unusual accounts of centuries past, legendary stories, folklore, and the supernatural intrigues of Albany, New York. Tours are offered on November 2nd and November 3rd at 8 PM.

Cost is $20.

Halloween Market – Saratoga Springs

Visit the Farmers’ Market in Saratoga on October 31, from  3-6 pm at High Rock Park for a spooky celebration that’s free, family-friendly, and has something for everyone.

Festivities include:

  • Trick-or-treating,
  • A costume contest for kids (with lots of prizes!)
  • FREE (no-mess) pumpkin painting for the kiddos
  • A children’s activity hosted by the Saratoga Springs Public Library
  • Live music by 18 Strings Of Trouble
  • Food tastings

Halloween Night at Indian Ladder Farms

Head over to Indian Ladder Farms on Halloween night for a spooky celebration in the tasting room! They will be brewing up Mapplejack-o-lanterns (hot mulled cider with Mapplejack) and pairing candy with draft beverages. Costumes welcome and encouraged!

The event is from 4-9 PM at Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery located at 342 Altamont Road, Altamont.

Candy Buy Back Event

Do you have too much candy? Come to Colonie Center for the Candy Buy Back! For every pound of candy you give – you will get $1 back.

Stop by the Management Office (located near the lower level restrooms) on November 1, 2, 5, 6 from 8:30AM-5PM to get some cash for your candy! Supplies are limited, so hurry in!

Free Wine Tasting

Capital Wine & Spirits Albany hosts a free wine tasting every Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm, featuring several wines chosen by the staff.

Come early to savor the selections!

The wines are on sale for 16% off at the tasting and for 2 weeks after the tasting.

The event is at Capital wine and Spirits on 348 State Street, Albany on Friday, November 2nd from 6 – 9 PM. Admission is free.

Albany Lantern Parade

The Washington Park Conservancy & the City of Albany will be hosting the third annual Albany Lantern Parade in Washington Park. This family-friendly event is free and all are welcome to join!

Join neighbors for a sunset parade of home-made lanterns around Washington Park Lake to bring warmth and light as  Eastern Standard Time is welcomed.

The event is on Sunday, Nov 4, 2018 – 4:45 to 6:30 PM at the Washington Park Conservancy in Washington Park. Admission is free.
