Featured Five: Fall Foliage

unnamedThis week we’ll be featuring a few trails and pathways in and around Albany where you can easily access beautiful views, take advantage of our phenomenal fall weather, and even find a few moments of peace in the outdoors. You could stroll in one of these each weeknight this week!

We’ll start with a local favorite: Five Rivers, in Delmar, NY.

Easily reached from Rte 443, just outside of Delmar proper, a haven of habitats and wildlife awaits exploration. Five Rivers is heavily frequented, but is large enough that it rarely feels anything close to crowded. The variety of trails allows for a different experience each time you visit, and the recently opened visitor center includes an impressive amount of educational material about the grounds and its inhabitants.

unnamedFive Rivers is open all year for all kinds of activities, but there’s really something special about wandering the grounds in the autumn, and we recommend you check it out before you need your snowshoes for exploring! Click here to access their schedule of fall events, both educational and entertaining.
