The Works Project Administration (WPA, originally known as the Works Progress Administration), was one of the major initiatives of The New Deal. Millions were employed by the project, and it was hard to find a neighborhood or town that went untouched by the improvements it offered, whether creating parks, improving water systems, or constructing roads. The Capital Region, of course, is no exception, including sites from the landmark post office in Delmar to the Schuylerville Tennis Courts.
