The Empire State Plaza ice skating rink, located in Center Square, Albany, has been victim to austerity budgets for the last few years. However this year it’s back, and it’s better than ever. It’s free, open 7 days a week between 11am and 8pm (closed from 3-4pm for maintenance). The rink is well maintained, with lights and music. The rink also has a concession stand with warm treats and a skate rental shop. Here are some photos from a recent ice skating session at the plaza rink.
As far as the real estate perspective, this is just one of the many benefits of living in Center Square, Albany. The city of Albany real estate market is diverse, but no neighborhood is as unique as Center Square. The walkability and urban amenities in Center Square, are just some of the unique features. As a resident of Center Square, I may be biased. But it’s awfully nice to be able to throw your skates over your shoulder and walk a few blocks to the rink for an outdoor skate with your special someone. Of course, these desirable neighborhood features are reflected in the strong Center Square real estate market prices, both rentals and home sales.
