In Touch with Dana Farrell

Let’s learn a little more about Dana Farrell…

Do you prefer sweet or salty?

IMG_5397I am definitely a sweets person. I definitely wouldn’t say “NO” to a chocolate cookie. But – if you give me the purple skittles bag – then  I am one happy person. I think it started back when I played high school sports. I would walk to the store before home games, grab myself a sleeve of saltine crackers and a blow pop. It was my ritual. I still find myself doing that on occasion –  how many years later?

What is your favorite section in the grocery store and why
All the Vegetables. You can cook them, grill them, eat them raw or sautée them! Then just add salt, pepper and oil. If I’m really feeling sassy I’ll add turmeric. You can’t go wrong.

What is your passion?

IMG_7021Aside from my profession as an architectural designer and real estate. Singing to me is where my soul really becomes happy. When I sing I truly believe I can fix anything or anyone. It’s powerful and vulnerable and I just love it.

What is your most treasured material possession?
It’s a ring that was $.30 from Greece, the greek key symbol. I was just 16, traveling abroad for the first time. I almost didn’t make the trip after a nasty ankle sprain and hours in the ER the night before. I walked up the Acropolis with crutches and hobbled around the city streets. I found that ring on one of the islands and 17 years later I’ve never let it go. It has become the ring I wear when I travel and I guess I think it keeps me safe.

Where would you live if you could live off the grid?
I never really thought about living off the grid. What I would do is explore this incredible country and go on the road until I thought what I did and saw was enough.
