In Touch with Vanessa Saari

Let’s learn a little more about Vanessa Saari…

Do you ever keep a New Year’s resolution?
Vanessa2New Year’s is my favorite holiday, my favorite day of the year. It’s all about rebirth, starting fresh, new beginnings, cleaning out the past. I have a tradition of going to Thatcher Park in Albany to watch the sunrise every year. It’s a very special moment for me. So do I keep a resolution per se? No, though I always welcome the New Year in and embrace it as much as possible.

Which skill would you love to learn?
I have always wanted to learn to play the cello. I played violin for 8 years, from 4th grade to 12th grade. The more time I spent in the orchestra the more I fell more in love with the deep and moving sounds of the cello.

Have you locked yourself out of the house or your car? What did you do?
I have locked myself out of my house – and I did the proverbial climb through an open window technique. I have not locked myself out of my car thank goodness, though that is probably because I never lock it. If someone wants Burger King napkins and an EZ Pass by all means – go for it!

VAnessa 3Would you prefer to visit Earth in 2100 or travel back to 1900?
I would travel to 2100. Something about the unknown and the not yet experienced that is very attractive to me. Not that I experienced 1900 of course, but I feel like we have read about it in history books.

What was the worst present you’ve received?
Well, I don’t want to sound too sappy but no gift is ever bad. It’s the thoughtfulness of the giver that means the most. Having said that, I’ve probably re-gifted some horrible smelling candles along the way.
